The Ideation Box team was proud to attend and take part in the first ArabNet ME conference held in Beirut, Lebanon on the 26th – 27th March, 2010.

ArabNet 2010 is the first international conference for the Arab web industry and it brought together leaders from across the MENA, Europe, and Silicon Valley under one roof to discuss cutting-edge trends and emerging opportunities. Professionals took to the stage as members of several panels – each dedicated to one topic pertaining to the web industry and entrepreneurship  – and shared their experience and knowledge with conference attendees. At the conclusion of each panel, which lasted approx. 2 hours, attendees and members of the audience were given the chance to ask questions which were in turn addressed by the panel.

Through 7 minute pitch sessions, the conference featured the region’s brightest ideas and promising internet start-ups, and exposed and publicized them in effort to connect them with the internet ecosystem: incubators, angel investors, venture capitalists, established internet companies, NGOs and influential bloggers.

A Gala Dinner hosted by Bank Audi on night was the venue in which the winners of the Ideathon were announced. First place went to Farah Al Fadel and her team with her idea of tasmeem.me.
